Days Gone gets a new game plus mode next week

Days Gone’s next update will add a new game plus mode one week from Friday, Sony’s Bend Studio announced this morning. It allows players to start the story over with the better firepower, faster motorcycle, and faction cred that they built up in a previous playthrough.
Jeff Ross, Days Gone’s director, said the new game plus mode was the player community’s most requested feature since the game launched on PlayStation 4 in April. New game plus becomes available once the main storyline, “I’m Never Giving Up,” has been finished and can be played at any difficulty level.
That includes two more difficulty modes, too: Hard 2 and Survival 2, basically harder and survival-er versions of the original modes. These modes are available throughout the game, not just to new game plus playthroughs. They will come with more trophies, Ross said, “including one related to a mysterious new weapon from an agent that only operates in the shadows.” Mysterious!
Ross advises the NG+ minded to prep for their second tour of duty by going through all of the Challenge modes, going for gold and maximizing their gameplay perks for the new ride.
Separately, for those who are fans of Days Gone’s soundtrack, a vinyl album goes up for pre-order via Mondo on Sept. 11. The album features 25 of the game’s tracks, 20 of them by composer Nathan Whitehead, and comes on multiple 180-gram colored discs.
